According to the People's Daily, the Beijing Haidian District Prosecutor's Office disclosed that a former employee of a short video platform, Feng, colluded with external merchants to defraud 140 million yuan in subsidies through leaking internal data and false declarations. After the illicit funds were received by a shell company, they were exchanged for Bitcoin and laundered using the "mixing" technique, with part of the funds transferred back to their controlled accounts. Feng and 7 others were sentenced to prison terms ranging from three years to fourteen years and six months and fined, with 90 Bitcoin recovered.
